Virtual Videostudio

The vistom-partner Sabine Hirtes from Offenburg university created the following brainstormed description of an eventual video studio she is thinking of developing with one of her students in the context of vistom:

„Imagine you have such a studio with a store of walls and equipment, with several variations of common light sets. You could erect a set and then equip it with lights, which you could push around and hang up. Then you could view this setup through virtual cameras of different focal lengths. Virtual camera arms, tracks, and dollies should also be in the technology provided. With such a setup everything may be observed and considered comfortably from the screen in the studio. And of course, there should also be a set of virtual actors for populating such a set.  Such a virtual studio should be adaptable to the dimensions and equipment of a real studio so that all the simulated steps could then be repeated with the real devices.“
